UNJUST CALL TO CLOSE THE MUSAAJID

COWARDLY CALL BY THE HYPOCRITES TO CLOSE THE MUSAAJID OF ALLAH TA`ALA

Hadhrat Abu Hurairah (radhiallahu anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said, “Martyrs are those who die because of drowning, plague, abdominal disease, or of being buried alive by a falling building.” And then he (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) added, “If the people knew the reward for the Zuhr prayer in its early time, they would race for it. If they knew the reward for the `Isha’ and the Fajr prayers in congregation, they would join them even if they had to crawl. If they knew the reward for the first row, they would draw lots for it.” [Bukhaari Shareef]

This Hadith not only gives glad tidings for those who die of plague, but of particular importance is the sentence that follows in the very same Hadith. On the one hand, Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) speaks of dying during a plague, but then in the very same Hadith he (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) urges the believers towards Salaat in congregation, in the MUSJID. The Hadith doesn’t merely speak about establishing Salaat, it stresses the importance of congregational Salaat. It highlights the importance of Salaat in a Musjid! The connection between the two – that is, dying of plague and Salaat in the Musjid – is unmistakable.

WHY SHUT DOWN THE MUSAAJID IN S.A.?

The government has not issued any decree that necessitates closing the Musaajid. Our own ‘muslims’ have initiated this call to close the Musaajid. To top it all, the so-called ‘ulama’ bodies are at the forefront of this callous and un-Islamic call.

In its latest Testament of Nifaaq, the Jamiat of so-called ‘ulama’ South Africa encourages people to “suspend” congregational Salaat in the Musaajid. They stupidly advise that Musaajid must be limited to 5 people. Inna Lillaahi… The disbelieving government allows up to 100 people, and these enemies of Islam decrease that to a mere 5%. That they have lost their Imaan is no secret! What about the rest of the congregation who wish to perform Salaat in the Musjid? They contributed towards the Musjid and even if they did not, the right to limit congregants is NOT that of Insaan. Allah Ta`ala clearly states in Surah Jinn, “INDEED THE MUSAAJID ARE FOR ALLAH ALONE!”

They further foolishly claim the following kufr: “It is unmistakably clear that in the absence of a medical remedy, the only viable solution to containing the pandemic is to maintain social distancing in every sphere of our communal lives.” The Hadith of Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) is clear: “For every illness there is a cure.” As Muslims we need to rush to His Houses and beg for His Mercy so that this cure be speedily found. Abandoning Salaat, a Pillar of Islam, from being performed in the Musaajid is the greatest injustice ever to be levelled on man.

They then further entrench their beliefs of kufr by stating that the ‘social distancing’ is the “only viable solution”. Laa Howla Wa Laa Quwwata! Imaan has surely left the hearts and minds of these people. Where is Allah Ta`ala in this equation of theirs? Have they forgotten that Allah Rabbul Izzat IS THE solution?

Of particular note is the fact that this notice which calls for “suspending” Jamaat Salaat is not backed by a single (albeit weak) Shar`i reference. They have concocted this kufr all on their own!

The government cannot and will not decree the closing of the Musaajid until and unless they make the same call to close every shop and mall in the country. This extremely severe measure will literally bring the country to a standstill. This extreme measure will be worse than the anticipated total blackout of Eskom. The majority of people in the country will not have any means of survival. The closing of businesses en-masse will mean that people will not be paid, since businesses will have no income. How will people buy food, pay bills, etc., etc.?

As a matter of fact, even if the government orders the closing of our Musaajid we should challenge them in court. Salaat in the Musjid for Muslim men is more important to us than any other ‘essential service’.

The governments and leaders of countries where there is a majority of Muslims, like Turkey and Mauritania, have explicitly stated that they will NOT close the Musaajid. In fact, the official statement from Mauritania urges people to go the Musaajid and recite the Qur`aan Majeed. Our cowardly ‘ulama’ and muttarwallis have gone to the extreme level of displaying their antagonism towards Islam by shutting the Musaajid down.

SALAATUL KHAUF

The Ahaadith and Kitaabs of Fiqh describe the method of making Salaatul Khauf, which is a Salaat to be performed at times of fear or on the battlefront, with the enemy forces in sight and the battle raging on.

This emphasises the importance of congregational Salaat. Salaat in congregation is not waived even in the very midst of raging battle! How can it ever be suspended and waived because of an imagined viral affliction? The Musaajid are the epicentres of Islam and congregational Salaat. How selfish and hypocritical is it for these ‘ulama’ to ask people to perform congregational Salaat in their respective streets and areas, when the Musaajid are shut down! Do they believe people will risk their homes becoming hotspots for the ‘infection’ they so desperately fear themselves? This haraam call to close the Musaajid will lead to the total abandonment of congregational Salaat in almost every town where the call is heeded.

As for those who propagated the false notion that this imagined viral affliction warrants adding the portion in the Athaan for people to perform their Salaat at home, have failed to mention that even though there were some occasions where this was added to the Athaan during the time of Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam), the Musaajid were NEVER closed! Be that as it may, this virus-scare does not warrant performing Salaat at home.

 DOES IMAAN EVER GET SUSPENDED?

The recent notice by the Tabligh Jamaat also makes one wonder where their allegiance and sincerity lie. The basic teaching of the Tabligh Jamaat is to encourage people to the Musaajid and to engage in ‘Ijtima`I’ (congregational) a’maal. They have made a 180 degree turn and now spinelessly encourage people to remain at home and engage in ‘infiraadi’ (individual) a`maal. Where has their allegiance to Houses of Allah Ta`ala gone to? They always used to propagate that everything comes from Allah Ta`ala. Where has that Yaqeen disappeared to now? This virus has become one of the Armies of Allah Rabbul Izzat that distinguishes between Imaan and kufr.                                وَ مَا یَعْلَمُ جُنُوۡدَ رَبِّکَ اِلَّا ہُوَ ؕ

MUSAAJID ARE THE SHI`AAR OF ISLAM

The presence of Musaajid indicate the presence of Muslims. The absence of any activity in the Musaajid, especially the basic daily Jamaat Salaat, indicate the absence of Muslims in that locality. When the signs of Islam in a locality become silent and forlorn, what can be said of the followers of Islam?

So now, those who have unjustly closed the doors of their Musjaajid, will they call out Athaan or not? If they do, they cannot call out “Come to Salaat”. If they call out, “Perform Salaat in your homes”, they are actively encouraging individual Salaat for no apparent reason. And also, as mentioned previously, this call was never coupled with the closing of the Musaajid ever before in the history of Islam!

Take note of the following Hadith from Bukhaari Shareef:

Hadhrat Anas (radhiallahu anhu) reports, “Whenever Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) attacked some people, he would never attack them till it was dawn. If he heard the Adhan (i.e. call for prayer) he would delay the fight, and if he did not hear the Athaan, he would attack them immediately after dawn. We reached Khaibar at night.”

The calling of Athaan – i.e. calling people to the Musjid for Salaat – is a sign of the presence of Muslims.

Imaam Nawawi (rahmatullahi alaih) states in his commentary that this Hadith proves that Athaan prevents an attack on the inhabitants of that locality because it (Athaan) is a proof of their Islam (i.e. that they are Muslims).

It is stated in Fat`hul Baari, “Indeed Athaan is the Shi`aar of Islam. It is not permissible to abandon it. If the inhabitants of a locality decide to abandon it, the Sultan must wage an attack on them.”

Athaan is the call to Salaat in the Musjid. In plain and simple terms, IF A LOCALITY CEASES THE CALL TO SALAAT IN THE MUSJID, THEY HAVE PROVEN THEIR KUFR. THEY CAN NO LONGER BE CALLED ‘MUSLIM’.

May Allah Ta`ala have mercy on this Ummah.
