Allah Ta`ala declares in the Qur’aan Majeed: “On this day have I completed for you your Deen.”

It has been reported in Tirmidhi Shareef from Hadhrat Nafi` (rahmatullahi alaih) that a man sneezed in the presence of Ibn Umar (radhiallahu anhu). The man said, “Alhamdulillahi Wassalaamu ala Rasulillah.”

Hadhrat Ibn Umar (radhiallahu anhu) commented, “I too acknowledge the praises of Allah Ta`ala and send salutations to Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam), however this is not what Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) taught us (to say after sneezing). He taught us to say, ‘Alhamdulillah Ala Kulli Haal.’”

Our Deen has been completed and perfected by Allah Rabbul Izzat. Any act of Deen which is deemed an Ibaadat that has not been practiced or advocated by Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) or his Sahaabah or anyone from the Khairul Quroon, is described as an act of Bid`ah. A Bid’ah is simply translated as an ‘innovation’. Any act of worship or Ibaadat that is ‘new’ to our Deen, is a Bid`ah.

Imaam Rabbani said, “The case with all bid`ah is the same – that is, they are accretions to the Sunnah thereby displacing it.”

A message has been circulating inviting people to a “recitation of Bukhaari Shareef” which is to take place at the Azaadville Darul Uloom Musjid. The message claims: “This has been the action of our pious predecessors that when they were afflicted with some difficulty, they would have a recitation of Bukhaari Shareef…”

Whilst we have never heard of such a practice amongst our pious predecessors, it changes nothing if this ever was a practice of some. It remains a Bid`ah.

We do acknowledge the blessings and power of the Ahaadith of Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and also the barkat of Bukhaari Shareef (and all the other Saheeh Ahaadith Kutub). There may be some (pious predecessors) who have advised that recitation of the entire Kitaab is a means of barkat, but this would apply to individual recitation and never congregational. This bid`ah as advocated by these persons in Azaadville perfectly fits the description of a Bid`ah! When any act of Ibaadat – or simply put, an act which intends to draw the Mercy of Allah Ta`ala, is done by specifying a time and or place for its execution and inviting others to it, which has never been done or taught during the era of Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) or Khairul Quroon, is branded a BID`AH!

The abuse of the Qunoot Naazilah, which has also reached, nay surpassed, the level of Bid`ah, seems to be insufficient for these Ulama.

They now crave other means of accreditation or recognition to show people they “care” for the plight of the Palestinians.

It is indeed sad that Ulama don’t recognise the plethora of advice from the Qur`aan Majeed and the Sunnah of Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) to draw the Mercy and Aid of Allah Rabbul Izzat in difficult times upon the Ummah, that they resort to the darkness of Bid`ah. Aggrandizement and Hubbe Jah are the only motives we see in this sad scenario.

The Hadith shows simple remedies to situations like we have in Palestine or in fact any difficulties the Ummah faces:

·       Hadhrat Sa`ad (radhiallahu anhu) reports that Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: “The supplication of Dhun-Nun (Hadhrat Yunus alaihi salaam) when he supplicated, while in the belly of the whale was

لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ

So indeed, no Muslim supplicates with it for anything, ever, except Allah responds to him.” [Tirmidhi Shareef]

·       Abu Darda reported: Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said, “No Muslim servant supplicates for his brother in his absence but that the angel says: And for you the same.”

·      Abdullah ibn Amr (radhiallahu anhu) reported: Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said, “No supplication is quicker to be answered than a supplication on behalf of one absent.”

The above are just a few examples of simple remedies prescribed by Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) that every Muslim can (and should) do in the privacy of their homes for the Palestinians and for the entire Ummah. Just observe the beauty of the Sunnah in that when we make dua for the Palestinians, Allah Ta`ala will grant us the same protection we ask Him for. There is absolutely no Hadith or anything recorded from the life of our beloved Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) or his Sahaabah (radhiallahu anhum) or Tabieen or Tab`e Taabieen (rahmatullahi alaihim ajmaeen) that advocates or even hints at congregating to recite Ahaadith or make any Thikr or Tilaawat as a means of drawing Allah Ta`ala’s Rahmat. The Hadith mentions the blessings of Surah Yaseen (and other Surahs), but nowhere is it advocated to be recited in congregation or unison. Even in the Qur`aan Majeed, Allah Ta`ala informs us to make dua to Him in silence and that it is such duas that He will readily accept.

Today it is one Darul Uloom that gives birth to the accretion and bid`ah of “Buhaari Shareef recitation” and tomorrow we’ll have all the others follow suit. What about those foreign students (of which almost all our Darul Ulooms have a majority of) who will return to their homes and initiate such Bid`aat which they witnessed their Asaatiza peddling?

Ulama should realise that the only salvation of this Ummah lies in following the Qur`aan Majeed and Sunnah, specifically in matters of Deen. They should be advancing and propagating the practices of the Sunnah, rather than holding to the views of people who came centuries after Khairul Quroon. When the Shariah has all the remedies to whatever ails the Ummah, why then divert to alien practices? As mentioned above by Mujaddid Alfe Thaani – acts of Bid`ah displace the Sunnah.

The incident above where Hadhrat Abdullah Ibn Umar (radhiallahu anhu) acknowledged the virtue of praising Allah Ta`ala and Durood, however its execution and recitation at a time that was not advocated by Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) rendered it an innovation. It displaced a Sunnah! So even the recitation of something virtuous, when done at an inopportune time and in an inopportune manner meant punishment and not reward.

The irony of this entire “Bukhari Shareef recitation” Bid`ah is that the Noble Ahaadith Shareef is being (ab)used to displace and replace the Sunnah. Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Rajioon!

May Allah Ta`ala guide this Ummah.

 

“Clear propagation is our ONLY responsibility”

Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said:

السواك مطهرة للفم و مرضاة للرب

“The (use of) miswaak is a cleanliness of the mouth and a (means of gaining the) pleasure of the Rabb.”

The use of the miswaak (toothstick) is undoubtedly a great Sunnah of our beloved Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). There are many Ahaadith that highlight the virtues and benefits of using the miswaak. The use of toothbrush and toothpaste is not a substitute for the miswaak. Amongst the greatest virtues of using the miswaak is that the person (who regularly uses it) will easily be able to recite the Kalimah at the time of death and also the usage of miswaak during wudhu will ensure the Salaat performed with that wudhu to be 70 times more rewarding.

The following are some of the benefits and virtues of using the miswaak:

1. Miswaak strengthens the gums and prevents tooth decay.
2. Miswaak assists in eliminating toothaches and prevents further increase of decay which has already set in.
3. Miswaak creates a fragrance in the mouth.
4. Miswaak is a cure for illness.
5. Miswaak eliminates bad odours and improves the sense of taste.
6. Miswaak sharpens the memory.
7. Miswaak is a cure for headaches.
8. Miswaak creates lustre (noor) on the face of the one who continually uses it.
9. Miswaak causes the teeth to glow.
10. Miswaak strengthens the eyesight.
11. Miswaak assists in digestion.
12. Miswaak clears the voice.

DISPELLING A MISCONCEPTION

There are some persons who use the Miswaak in the Musjid immediately before Salaat commences. This practice is incorrect, as explained in the Fatwa cited below, which appears in Aap ke Masaail aur un ka Hal:

In responding to a question regarding the usage of a miswaak in Musjid before Salaat, the venerable Mufti Saheb answers:

“The Hadith cited (by those who advocate this practice) is as follows:

لولا أن أشق على أمتي لأمرتهم بالسواك عند كل صلاة

“Had I not feared difficulty upon my Ummat, I would certainly have ordered them to use the miswaak at the time of every Salaat.”

There is a difference in the words amongst the narrators of this Hadith. Some report this Hadith with the words عند كل صلاة(at the time of every Salaat) whilst others report this Hadith with the words عند كل وضوء(at the time of every wudhu) [Saheeh Bukhari, vol. 12, page 259]. That is, the use of the miswaak is encouraged during every wudhu.

In view of the usage of these differing terms, the import of this Hadith according to Imaam Abu Hanifah (rahmatullahi alaih) is that before every Salaat, wudhu has to be made and we are encouraged to use the miswaak at the commencement of every wudhu. The meaning of the instruction to use miswaak for every Salaat is that it is to be used at the time of making wudhu before the Salaat. The objective is not that miswaak must be made before commencing the actual Salaat.

When a person uses the miswaak when he stands up for Salaat, then there is a fear that the gums may bleed, which will result in the wudhu breaking. If the wudhu breaks, then the Salaat will also be rendered broken. This is the reason why Imaam Abu Hanifah (rahmatullahi alaih) used to say that it is Sunnah to use miswaak before the wudhu which is made for Salaat. Miswaak is not to be made before the Salaat itself.

Besides this (explanation above), miswaak is used to achieve cleanliness of the mouth, and this objective can only be acquired if miswaak is used during wudhu, when water is used to gargle, thereby acquiring proper cleanliness in the mouth. When a miswaak is used just before Salaat commences, then it is done without water or gargling, which will not result in proper cleanliness of the mouth, thereby defeating the objective of the miswaak.”

As explained above, the use of a miswaak immediately before Salaat commences, is not part of the Sunnah. One of the chief objectives of using a miswaak is to clean the teeth, gums and mouth itself. When a (dry) miswaak is used, then besides there being a possibility of the gums bleeding, the dirt which the miswaak removes cannot be expelled from the mouth because one is in the Musjid. If any dirt is removed by the use of the miswaak then either it will remain in the mouth or be swallowed – both options defeat the very purpose of using a miswaak.

 

The best use of a miswaak, is when making wudhu. Alternatively, if one needs to make miswaak (without the need of making a wudhu), then one must wet the miswaak with water and rinse the miswaak and the mouth afterwards.

WHAT IS GOOD FOR THE GOOSE…

In the wake of the recent so-called “World Ijtima” held in Camperdown, KZN, in South Africa, many Ulama have found their inner voices and consciences of Haqq surface. There is a list of Ulama, and even more are invited to add their names to this gilded list to voice their opposition to Molvi Sa`ad of the Nizaamuddeen faction of the now fragmented Tablighi Jamaat.

The politics that led to this unfortunate (but inevitable) split in the ranks of the Tablighi Jamaat hierarchy is a topic that really does not require any elucidation. Regardless of what many aver, this split boils down to nothing more than a power struggle. Shaitaan has achieved his objective in sullying the once noble reputation of the work of Tabligh. It appears that the expiry date of the effort initiated by sincere personalities is fast approaching. It is sad to note that this downfall is being orchestrated by the leaders of the Tabligh Jamaat themselves – this includes BOTH factions.

There is presently a witch-hunt being orchestrated by the Raiwind faction – the recently declared enemies of the Nizaamudeen faction. They have embarked on a pursuit to vilify Molvi Sa`ad to such an extent that they behave like “dogs with a bone”.

Let us state very clearly and emphatically that we are NOT sympathetic to either faction. The accusations presently being levelled at Molvi Sa`ad are justified and much of what he is claimed to have said is not just nonsense talk, but some of his statements can even be interpretated as kufr. Based on the statements made by Molvi Sa`ad, he is justifiably labelled as a deviate.

The Organisation Wifaqul Ulama has put its weight behind the Raiwind faction and circulated articles penned by its senior Ulama. A couple of its senior Ulama – by the way, Wifaqul Ulama also appear to be a rudderless and leaderless group, much like the Raiwind faction – have openly voiced their criticism and opposition to Molvi Sa`ad. Again, allow us to reiterate, we do not disagree with what is being said of this Molvi Sa`ad. We have not personally discussed with Molvi Sa`ad to get his perspective on his statements, but when one listens to his talks, it does speak volumes on the man’s ideologies. Suffice to say that he is a misguided miscreant!

When one carefully studies the criticisms levelled against Molvi Sa`ad, many of which are outlined in a Fatwa of the Madrasah in Isipingo and circulated by Wifaqul Ulama, it becomes abundantly clear that most of his views and utterances are common to all members of the Tabligh Jamaat. Long before this split even occurred, we have heard members of the Tabligh Jamaat imply that their “work” is the “only work”. Right to this day, just observe any Jamaat in any Musjid and you will see that they will commence their bayaan whilst Musallis are still engaged in Salaat in the Musjid! They constantly crow that “ijtimai amal” (collective action) is superior to “Infiraadi amal” (Individual action). So, to them there is greater merit in sitting in the Kitaab reading than completing Nafl Salaat!

The above cited Fatwa mentions that Molvi Sa`ad claims (inter alia) that “Dawah and Taleem is confined to the Musjid”. Right to this day, the Raiwind faction followers doggedly insist on conducting their Kitaab reading  inside the Musjid (thereby disturbing Musallis performing Sunan and Nawaafil) instead of reading in the sections adjoining the Musaajid. They insist and persist in having their Taleem inside the Musjid. And then there is their mantra of “making the Musaajid Aabaad” (keeping the Musaajid occupied), but where were all these people during the Covid lockdown???

Like this we can draw similitudes to almost every single accusation being levelled at Molvi Sa’ad in this Fatwa to what the Raiwind faction practice to this day.

As for his statements that are akin to kufr, even these are nothing new in Jamaat circles and bayaans. We speak first-hand and our claim is not based on hearsay! All through the years, statements similar to those made today by Molvi Sa`ad have been uttered by Tablighis. In fact, if the Nizaamuddeen faction installs spies to listen to the talks at Raiwind they would also probably come up with many ‘objections’ like those made against Molvi Sa`ad.

And then we can draw the very clear distinction of the likeness between the leaders of both factions. Just as Molvi Sa`ad has shown himself to be a deviate, the very same can be said of Tariq Jameel who is a ‘senior’ on the Raiwind Shura. Tariq Jameel is an open faasiq and mudhil (one who misleads). He is an open Shiah-sympathiser. He is guilty of making halaal what Allah Ta`ala has decreed Haraam.

There is also the case of Molvi Ahmed Laat – another ‘senior’ of the Raiwand faction, who is also an open faasiq and faajir. He appears on videos on YouTube.

…SHOULD BE GOOD FOR THE GANDER

The issue we wish to highlight here is the following:

In this Fatwa, the Mufti Saheb states: “Therefore, these Ulama and trustees stopping these jamaats from speaking in their masjids conforms to the law of Shari’ah.  Just as we will not allow other deviated sects (e.g. Shi’ahs, Qadiyaanis and Salafis etc.) to give bayaans in our masaajid, as it is possible that during the bayaan, they may utter something against Deen, similarly we will not allow the jamaats aligned with Ml Sa’d to deliver bayaans in our masaajid, for the same reason and based on the same fear.”

In this statement, the Mufti Saheb has condemned many a sincere Jamaat workers from “doing the work”. Because of the statements of one man, they condemn the entire following. They liken people (with whom they had always worked together with and sat side by side) to kaafir Shiahs and Qadiyanis!

We can safely claim that around 90% (if not more) of the followers of the Nizaamuddeen faction have never heard bayaans of or even set eyes on Molvi Sa`ad. They almost certainly would not bring faith in his statements of kufr if they were made aware of them. To dump them all into the same basket as Shiahs and Qadianis is indeed lamentable and very shortsighted.

We find it strange that the brothers in the Nizaamuddeen camp are likened to Shiahs and Qadianis. A Shiah is a Shiah because he subscribes to the kufr ideologies of Shiasm. The same can be said of Qadianis that they believe in and follow the corrupt ideologies of Qadianism.

The people linked to Nizaamuddeen are not regarded as Tablighis because they believe in or follow the ideologies of Sa’ad. They are Tablighis because they follow the very same dictates and system that the Raiwind fellows follow! It is illogical that they all be damned and discarded into the denizen of hellfire with Sa’ad.

It seems that the disease of extremism and fanaticism has gripped the minds of Sa’ad’s detractors just as it has him. But that is their modus operandi so they should apply this same logic to the followers and members of other deviant organisations.

NEVERTHELESS

If this Mufti Saheb, Wifaqul Ulama and the many ulama who have backed the opposition to Molvi Sa`ad stand by this contention of theirs – that all the followers of Nizaamuddeen faction are deviates, and that they should not be allowed to conduct programs in our Musaajid, then in all fairness, this very same ruling must be levelled at the Raiwind faction as well. The rot at the heads of both factions is equally putrid!

Why are these Ulama being so selective? Why single out Molvi Sa`ad and Nizaamuddeen, when Raiwind and (some of) its leaders are guilty of similar wrongs.

Extremism is a sickness of many Tablighis. Aayaat of the Qur`aan Majeed and also Ahaadith are interpreted incorrectly by all of them. The wrongs of the individuals connected to the Jamaat work are many. However, the ‘work’ itself is honourable and praiseworthy. By formulating such Fataawa and by the senior Ulama making such a hue and cry and condemning the entire faction of Nizaamuddeen, they are shooting the Jamaat Effort in the foot. They are almost literally “cutting their noses to spite their faces”. If they are not careful in their tirade against Molvi Sa`ad and condemning the entire faction, they will end up destroying the image of the entire Tabligh Jamaat effort.

THE GANDERS ARE MANY…

Let us now turn our attention to the other obvious ‘elephants in that room’.

Let us once again repeat – We are in agreement with much of the criticism levelled against Molvi Sa`ad by his detractors. We are extremely pleased that so many Ulama have ‘stood up’ for the Haq. Many of whom have all along been ‘dumb shayaateen’ and strangely silent when local deviant molvis and organisations have trampled the Haqq and propagated Baatil and kufr for many years. Many senior Ulama have also now openly spoken and even mentioned the name of Molvi Sa`ad in their condemnation of him (and unfortunately of the entire Nizaamuddeen faction).

We now call upon all these Ulama and Organisations to denounce, condemn and declare as deviates and corrupt, the following organisations AND THEIR MEMBERS AND FOLLOWERS:

JAMIATUL ULAMA SOUTH AFRICA (sic), UUCSA (based in Mpumalanga), SANHA, RADIO ISLAM (sic), MJC, DARUL IHSAAN, etc.

These organisations, or at least its leaders, are guilty of greater kufr than Molvi Sa`ad. Some of Molvi Sa`ad’s statements are heinous and evil, but they pale in comparison to the great evil and act of kufr of aligning with the kuffaar to keep the Musaajid closed?  We are all aware of the events during the Covid era, when the above miscreants (all friends to one another) introduced themselves as “friends of the Court” and stood alongside the non-Muslim government to keep the Houses of Allah Ta`ala closed!

The open transgressions being perpetrated by all of the above deviant miscreants on a daily basis are too numerous to mention. They engage in Haraam acts and perpetrate kufr in full view of the masses. Not only do they change haraam into halaal, but they also encourage others to follow them.

EXPOSING THE DUST OF ANONYMITY

The misdemeanors of Molvi Sa’ad appear to have some attraction to certain Ulama. It brings out the Haq in them, Alhamdulillâh. But they should not stop there.

Following the Camperdown ijtima, a group styling itself “Kashful Ghubaar” seemed to have appeared out of thin air critiquing Sa’ad’s bayaans.

The identity of this group lurks behind a cloud of dust. Their articles don’t even have an email address. Be that as it may, it’s almost as though they exist just to find fault in the talks of Molvi Sa’ad. The point of Ikhlaas from amongst the 6 points of the Tablighi Jamaat appears to be lost to them. Nevertheless, we eagerly await their exposition of the deviant Zanaadeeq, the likes of Bham, Menk, the 2 Sulaimans, Navlakhi, Zubair Bhayat, Tariq Jameel and the myriad of other ‘shuyookh’. We urge them to expel the clouds of dust that enshroud the kufr and dhalaal of these rascals.

WE URGE THE MANY ULAMA WHO HAVE, ALHAMDULILLAH, RECOGNISED THE LIGHT OF HAQQ, TO STAND UP, JUST AS THEY HAVE AGAINST MOLVI SA`AD, AND CONDEMN THE ABOVE DEVIANT ORGANISATIONS AND ISSUE FATWAS PROHIBITING THE MEMBERS OF THE ABOVE ORGANISATIONS FROM EVER GIVING TALKS OR HOLDING PROGRAMS IN OUR MUSAAJID!

And then, in all fairness, these Ulama who have stood against Molvi Sa`ad, must also declare ALL the followers, well-wishers and members of the above organisations as deviates and they must all be lumped together with Molvi Sa`ad, his followers, the Shiahs and Qadianis! No member or employee of the Jamiatul Ulama SA (based in Fordsburg and headed by the deviate Bham) or the other deviant organisations must be allowed to hold any program in any Musjid or even perform Imaamat.

After all, WHAT IS GOOD FOR THE GOOSE, MUST ALSO BE GOOD FOR THE GANDER!

 

O ULAMA! DO NOT LOSE YOUR VOICE OF HAQQ NOW THAT YOU HAVE FOUND IT FOR MOLVI SA`AD. CONDEMN THE BAATIL THAT LINGERS AMONGST YOUR RANKS!

Hadhrat Anas ibn Malik (radhiallahu anhu) said: “When a faasiq (open sinner) is praised, Allah Ta`ala gets angry and the Arsh (Divine Throne) shudders on account of (Allah Ta`ala’s anger).”

An article circulated by Jamiat KZN recently praising the faasiq ex-leader of Hamas (Ismail Haniyeh) speaks volumes of their ignorance – both of current affairs and especially the Shariah. They stupidly add a special dua – Rahimahullah – meant for pious Muslims after the name of the faasiq Haniyeh. This article of theirs, most surely invites the Anger of Allah Ta`ala and contains atrocious and stupid claims. They make the man out to be a humble person. They falsely claim that he lived a “simple life amongst the residents of Gaza”. What atrocious stupid lies.

Muslims should not allow their Imaan and the Deen to be clouded by emotion. The plight of the Palestinians is dire and every Muslim throughout the globe has sympathy for their plight and together with duas for their safety and Imaan, millions (nay billions) of Rands (and dollars) are donated towards the cause of the Palestinians. The Muslim Community, internationally, daily entreat our Creator to assist the Palestinian Muslims against the cruelty and oppression of the Israelites and Zionists who are doomed for damnation.

As Muslims we need to accept that whatever events are playing out in Palestine and all over the universe are through Divine Decree. Allah Ta`ala is Most Just and Merciful. There is wisdom in every single action of His. After all, Allah Rabbul Izzat reminds us in His Kalaam that not even the falling of a single leaf occurs without His Knowledge.

THE ADVICE OF HADHRAT UMAR (RADHIALLAHU ANHU)

عن عَبْد اللَّهِ بْن عُتْبَةَ قَالَ قَالَ عُمَر بْن الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ إِنَّ أُنَاسًا كَانُوا يُؤْخَذُونَ بِالْوَحْيِ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَإِنَّ الْوَحْيَ قَدْ انْقَطَعَ وَإِنَّمَا نَأْخُذُكُمْ الْآنَ بِمَا ظَهَرَ لَنَا مِنْ أَعْمَالِكُمْ فَمَنْ أَظْهَرَ لَنَا خَيْرًا أَمِنَّاهُ وَقَرَّبْنَاهُ وَلَيْسَ إِلَيْنَا مِنْ سَرِيرَتِهِ شَيْءٌ اللَّهُ يُحَاسِبُهُ فِي سَرِيرَتِهِ وَمَنْ أَظْهَرَ لَنَا سُوءًا لَمْ نَأْمَنْهُ وَلَمْ نُصَدِّقْهُ وَإِنْ قَالَ إِنَّ سَرِيرَتَهُ حَسَنَةٌ 

Hadhrat Abdullah bin Utbah reports, “I heard ‘Umar bin Khattab (radhiallahu anhu) saying: ‘In the lifetime of Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) some people were called to account through Wahi. Now Wahi (Revelation) has discontinued and we shall judge you by your apparent acts. Whoever displays to us good, we shall grant him peace and security, and treat him as a near one. We have nothing to do with his intention. Allah will call him to account for that. But whosoever shows evil to us, we shall not grant him security neither shall we believe him, even if he professed that his intention is good.” [Saheeh Bukhari]

This ex-leader of Hamas dressed and looked just like any regular disbeliever. If a Muslim does not have the love for Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and Islam to even try and imitate the dressing and appearance of our beloved Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam), how can he ever claim to be ‘fighting’ for Allah Ta`ala and Islam? All the slogans these so-called ‘jihadists’ shout are hollow and only meant to attract name, fame and money! True love for Allah Ta`ala lies in emulating the Sunnah of Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam).

Let us study this man dispassionately:

1.     He dressed and outwardly appeared like a non-Muslim. He did not even sport a Sunnah beard!

2.     He died in the land of the greatest enemy of Islam – Iran! He went there in support of a Shiah. He was attending the inauguration of the Shiah president! He was there to honour a kaafir Shiah, and yet the Jamiat KZN honour him. How very, very shortsighted.

3.     His Janazah was performed by a Shiah.

4.     According to numerous reports, he was worth FOUR BILLION DOLLARS at the time of his death.

5.     He lived in Qatar whilst his fellow countrymen were languishing in squalor, starvation and constant bombing.

This man’s death can never be classified as martyrdom. Let us look at this recent fracas in the Middle East. Hamas apparently initiated the hostilities by bombing civilians. Whilst every Jew is accursed, Islam does not teach us to kill non-combatant civilians. If Hamas comprised intelligent Muslims, they could have attacked some military target of Israel. Or even targeted some Israeli dignitary. By attacking these civilians, they must have surely anticipated some retaliation from the Israeli army. Were they ready for this backlash? Apparently not! Did these Hamas people not anticipate that Israel will attack the Palestinian civilian population in retaliation to their brash action?

One can surmise that this Hamas attack was designed to gain sympathy from the international community, especially Muslims, who would then open their hearts and wallets to the ‘Hamas Cause’! This suspicion is backed by the fact that this Hamas ex-leader – who by the way earned his livelihood in this leadership position – was worth FOUR BILLION DOLLARS! How is it that a person who supposedly fought for the Palestinians had such a fortune when his fellow countrymen were dying of starvation! The world had to rally around the Palestinians and send food, whilst the leader of Hamas swam in BILLIONS of dollars! Hamas (also Haniyeh) have been accused over the years of misappropriating and stealing aid meant for the Palestinians. To this day, many people who ostensibly collect funds for Palestine, pocket most (if not all) for themselves.

If these people truly were fighting a Jihad, they would have faced the Israeli usurpers head-on. Why waste your energies and weapons on civilians, when you can – or should be – attacking the enemy army? All these so-called ‘jihadists’ are good for is un-intelligent guerrilla warfare which ultimately results in mass Muslim civilian casualties. If they were sincere and stood up to the Jewish aggressors, Allah Ta`ala will come to their aid and assist them in vanquishing the accursed Israeli army. True Jihad is spreading the Kalimah of Allah Ta`ala and expanding the borders of Islam. With the wealth these people (like Hamas) usurp from the international community, they can easily muster a powerful Muslim army to stand up against and also defeat the disbelievers.

We make dua that true Mujaahideen, the likes of Salahuddeen Ayubi (rahmatullah alaih), stand up to defend the Muslims of Palestine and expand the borders of Islam. We have the consolation prophesied by Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) of the coming of Hadhrat Imaam Mahdi (alaihi salaam) who will remove Muslims from the debased state we have allowed ourselves to be subjected to.

Muslims should not be so naïve to allow themselves to be blinded by superficial ‘heroism’. Muslims are guided by the Shariah and the Sunnah. A Faasiq is a Faasiq, until he reforms himself. Ismail Haniyeh lived a life of Fisq and died with it. His condition now is only known to Allah Ta`ala. We need to study the situation as we see it and draw rational conclusions. We should not be blinded by pseudos’ and facades. We must take lesson from the words of Hadhrat Umar (radhiallahu anhu) as cited above. We do not know what the bosoms of man conceal. We should only be affected by the zaahir (outer appearances) of people and draw our conclusions from what we can see and by what our Islamic intellects compute.

When Ulama praise fussaaq (plural of faasiq), it sends a wrong message to the Muslim masses. Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said that an intelligent person is one who suppresses his naffs and base desires and carries out actions that will benefit his Aakhirah. This means that a Muslim should follow the Shariah and the Sunnah. The fact that a man is Palestinian and claims to be fighting the cause of the Palestinians should not emotionally blind true believers. His stupendous wealth amassed on the backs and blood of his fellow countrymen, and the fact that he was fraternising with the enemies of Islam and the Sahaabah (radhiallahu anhum) clearly denote otherwise.

It is as clear as daylight that to people like Ismail Haniyeh, the plight of Palestinians is just a way for them to fill their coffers. It is all about dirty politics. Jihad, Islam, Allah Ta`ala and Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) are furthest from their minds. True love for Islam and Allah Ta`ala can be found in the practical emulation of the life of Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam).

THE BRAZEN KUFR OF HENDRIKS AND HIS POLITICAL PARTY

 A prominent news outlet reported:

JOHANNESBURG – While some political parties led campaigns to garner support in all corners of the country, some looked to controversial prophet, Shepherd Bushiri, for blessings leading to the election.

Al Jama-ah leader, Ganief Hendricks, told Eyewitness News that the party received a prophecy from the fugitive prophet before the polls.

He claimed Bushiri’s prophecy predicted that the organisation would grow its electoral footprint in parts of the country.

Prophet Shepherd Bushiri is still a wanted man in South Africa for fleeing the country to escape fraud and money laundering charges amounting to over R100 million.

Despite this, members of the Al Jama-ah party travelled to Bushiri’s church in Malawi and came back with the prophecy predicting the organisation’s electoral support would increase.

While Hendricks welcomed the prophecy, he said he had no control over the religious beliefs of party members.

“In Mpumalanga, we have Prophet Shepherd Bushiri’s people, he has blessed them. He hasn’t blessed Al Jama-ah, but he’s very happy that Al Jama-ah is the first party that is giving his party a political home.” [EWN, 3^RD June 2024]

WHAT OUR BELOVED NABI (SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM) SAID:

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «مَنْ أَتَى عَرَّافًا أَوْ كَاهِنًا فَسَأَلَهُ فَصَدَّقَهُ بِمَا يَقُولُ فَقَدْ كَفَرَ بِمَا أُنْزِلَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ»

Hadhrat Abu Hurairah (radhiallahu anhu) reports from Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam):

“That person who consults a fortune-teller or a priest (and asks about the future) and he believes him, he has indeed perpetrated kufr (disbelieved) in that which has been revealed to Muhammed sallallahu alaihi wasallam.”

WHAT THE ILLUSTRIOUS SAHAABAH (RADHIALLAHU ANHUM) SAID:

أَنَّ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ: «مَنْ أَتَى كَاهِنًا فَسَأَلَهُ وَصَدَّقَهُ بِمَا يَقُولُ، فَقَدْ كَفَرَ بِمَا أُنْزِلَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ»

Hadhrat Ibn Mas`ood Radhiallahu anhu) said: “The person who approaches a priest and asks (about the future) and he believes him, indeed he has committed kufr (disbelieved) in that which has been revealed to Muhammed sallallahu alaihi wasallam.”

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: «مَنْ مَشَى إِلَى سَاحِرٍ أَوْ كَاهِنٍ أَوْ عَرَّافٍ فَصَدَّقَهُ فِيمَا يَقُولُ فَقَدْ كَفَرَ بِمَا أُنْزِلَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ»

Hadhrat Abdullah (radhiallahu anhu) said: “He who goes to a fortune-teller or a priest and believes what he tells him, he has truly committed kufr (disbelieved) in that which has been revealed to Muhammed sallallahu alaihi wasallam.”

قَالَ عَلِيٌّ: «إِنَّ هَؤُلَاءِ الْعَرَّافِينَ كُهَّانُ الْعَجَمِ، فَمَنْ أَتَى كَاهِنًا يُؤْمِنُ بِمَا يَقُولُ فَقَدْ بَرِئَ مِمَّا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ»

Hadhrat Ali (radhiallahu anhu) said: “Indeed these fortune-tellers are non-Arab priests. Whoever goes to a priest and believes what he says, indeed he is stripped of that which has been revealed to Muhammed sallallahu alaihi wasallam (that is, he is a kaafir (disbeliever).”

The above statements have been reported in NUMEROUS books of Ahaadith.

A VOTE FOR AL JAMA-AH POLITICAL PARTY IS A VOTE FOR KUFR!

ALLAH TA`ALA DECLARES IN THE QURAAN MAJEED:

وَمَنۡ لَّمْ یَحْكُمۡ بِمَاۤ اَنۡزَلَ اللہُ فَاُولٰٓئِکَ ہُمُ الْکٰفِرُوۡنَ

Whoever does not judge by what Allah has revealed, then they surely are Kaafiroon (disbelievers).

With the upcoming elections, Muslims need to be made aware of their Islamic responsibilities and of their allegiance to the Deen of Islam.

It is Haraam for a Muslim to vote for any political party. A vote is in effect offering a pledge of allegiance and it is a testimony for the candidate or political party. When a person votes for someone or some political party, he is, in effect, signifying that he is pleased to have that person/political party rule over him and handle matters as they see fit. This means that the one who voted a party into power, shares in all their legislations and actions in government.

It is childish and inane to claim that a voter only condones or ‘shares in’ the ‘good’ laws and actions of the political party in power. A vote for any political party is, in reality, a full ‘vote of confidence’ in that party. And since EVERY SINGLE political party will operate under kuffaar laws, they (and whoever helped to put them into power) are Kaafiroon (disbelievers) in the Sight of Allah Ta`ala.

The Al Jama-ah Party in particular has been targeting Muslims and wooing their votes. Besides the Arabic sounding name, there is absolutely nothing Islamic about this Party.

In fact, their manifesto bears testimony to their brazen kufr.

Firstly, if one reads through their manifesto, they make absolutely no mention of Islam, Allah Ta`ala, Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) or our beautiful Shariah. They try desperately to come across as a ‘party for all people’. Neither do they represent Islam and Muslims nor will they ‘raise the flag of Islam’. All they seek is the votes of Muslims (and others), with the hope of getting into parliament, so that they may fill their unholy coffers and pockets.

They state in their manifesto: ““Persistent challenges such as systemic racism, ageism, structural inequality, religious supremacy, racial xenophobia, and ethnic discrimination impede the nation’s progress towards social cohesion and prosperity.”

La Houla Wa La Quwwata! The shameless louts denounce Islam as THE SUPREME religion, whereas Allah Ta`ala clearly proclaims in His Kalaam:

ان الدين عند الله الإسلام

“Indeed, THE (ONLY) religion in the Sight of Allah IS Islam.”

و من يبتغ غير الإسلام دينا فلن يقبل منه

“And whoever chooses (any other religion) besides Islam as a religion, it will NEVER be accepted of him.”

 

They also, rather shamelessly and blasphemously state in their offensive manifesto:

“Al Jama-ah aims to combat all forms of supremacist ideologies and bigotry, whether it be rooted in race, religion, culture, or ethnicity.”

They are actually saying that they will be combatting Islam and Muslims!!

A Muslim believes the Deen of Islam as Supreme. It is the ONE AND ONLY means of salvation in this world and the next. Muslims should never suffer from any complex or be shy to proclaim and be proud of their Deen. We believe and state unequivocally that all other religions and beliefs are deviations from the True Path. Al Jama-ah is apologetic about our beautiful religion of Islam and according to them they aim to “combat” the Islamic belief of supremacy!

They quote some Marxist in their manifesto but are too lily-livered to quote Qur`aan or Hadith!

They unashamedly proclaim that they are committed to: “Applying the rule of law without prejudice.” They naturally refer to the kuffaar law and constitution. By this claim of theirs they clearly eject themselves from the Deen of Islam. Allah Ta`ala clearly denounces such people as disbelievers.

This Al Jama-ah Party has been active in the political scene for over a decade and they have done absolutely nothing for the Muslim Community, and yet they advertise heavily in predominantly Muslim communities over the country. On some billboards they shamelessly imply that to vote for them is an Islamic requisite.

The only thing they are ‘proud’ about having ‘achieved’ for the Muslims is the recognition of Islamic marriages. This, in fact, is a great disservice to Muslims in South Africa. The Al Jama-ah have in effect surrendered Sacred Islamic Law (pertaining to marriages and its consequences) at the behest of the disbelievers to rule and toy with as they please.

To vote for the Al Jamaa-ah political party (or any other party for that matter) is in fact a vote for kufr.

 

Muslims must exercise their ‘democratic right’ not to vote. In fact, it is Waajib to do so. It is HARAAM to vote.

ALLAH TA`ALA CURSES THOSE WHO PARTICIPATE IN THIS

“MASS TAHAJJUD”

  فَوَیۡلٌ  لِّلْمُصَلِّیۡنَ ۙ﴿﴾

﴾  الَّذِیۡنَ ہُمْ عَنۡ صَلَاتِہِمْ سَاہُوۡنَ

﴾  الَّذِیۡنَ ہُمْ یُرَآءُوۡنَ ۙ﴿

Destruction be for those performers of Salaah

…who neglect (to perform) their Salaah…

…those who (when they do any good deed like performing Salaah,) are ostentatious (do it to show off before others)…

 

In the Qur`aan Majeed, Allah Rabbul Izzat curses those who perform Salaat ostentatiously. This Aayat directly refers to those morons who are calling for a “Mass Tahajjud” at the Rainbow Musjid in Lenasia. The irony here is that the very proponents of this act of Kufr, are the same scoundrels who proudly shut the Musaajid during the dark days of lockdown amidst the so-called Covid-19 plandemic. These are the very same hypocrites who ensured the Musaajid are closed to musallis for the daily Fardh and Jumuah Salaats. Today they are calling for people to come to the Musjid for Tahajjud Salaat!! Tahajjud Salaat is the most noble of all Nawaafil Ibaadaat, which is to be performed in the darkness and remote portions of the home. It is a time of the night when the slave is in secret communion with his/her Rabb. Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) has advocated that voluntary and supererogatory acts of Ibaadat are to be done so secretly that ‘what the right hand does, the left hand shouldn’t know about it’.

The dua made during the time of Tahajjud is sacred and special. It is a time when the person making dua can open his/her heart to Allah Ta`ala and ask of His Bounties.

In the Qur`aan Majeed, Allah Ta`ala clearly states:

“And call unto your Rabb with humility and softly.”

It is mentioned in a Hadith, “The best dua is (the one made) softly.”

It has also been reported from Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam): “The soft dua equals (is more effective than) seventy duas made loudly.”

All this indicates towards the efficacy of Ibaadat and dua that is made quietly, softly and in secret. The ostentatious “Mass Tahajjud” pantomime and farce is the exact antitheses of supererogatory acts of Ibaadat. It is nothing but a publicity stunt aimed at gaining recognition by the Muslim community to be seen as being sympathetic to the Palestinian cause. Their only aim is to satisfy their inordinate lust for name and fame and to leech public funding.

It is mentioned in a Hadith that any act of Ibaadat which is done to show others, is an act akin to kufr. By executing such acts of ‘ibaadat’ to show others is like ascribing partners to Allah Ta`ala. Ibaadat is now being carried out for others, and not purely for the Pleasure of Allah Ta`ala.

Imaam Tahawi (rahmatullahi alaih) said that besides the 2 rakaats after Zuhr and Maghrib, it is inappropriate to perform all other Sunan (and Nawaafil) in the Musjid.

It is mentioned in Muheet Burhaani that the unanimous view of the Fuqaha is that Sunan and Nawaafil is best performed in the home, based on the Hadith of Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam), “Illuminate your homes with Salaat. Do not make them graveyards.”

It is also stated that every Sunnat and Witr Salaat of Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) was performed in his house.

Calling Muslims to the Musjid for Tahajjud Salaat was never, ever done at any stage throughout the annals of Islamic history. The deviant ‘ulama’ of this era, like those who organise such haraam events, are most certainly the worst of creation under the canopy of the sky.

Such acts of show like this “Mass Tahajjud”, which are saturated and dripping with hypocrisy and riya (show) have absolutely no benefit for those participating in it neither for the poor Palestinians, in whose name it is ostentatiously being done.

 

Muslims must take careful note that participation in this mockery of our Deen is not only sinful, but it is a provocation for the Curse of Allah Ta`ala. May Allah Ta`ala guide us to distinguish between Haqq and Baatil, and may He keep us on the Siraatul Mustaqeem.

In its recent immoral fund-raiser, the organization called “Ashraful Aid” is appealing for Lillah and Zakaat (Nauthubillah) funds to buy sanitary pads for napaak kuffaar girls.

Right at the outset, let us be clear that there is no sin in gifting charity to non-Muslims for permissible uses. However, this organisation that projects the façade of being Muslim is appealing to Muslims to donate their Lillah and Zakaat monies for this ignoble cause.

The very term Lillah means “for Allah Ta`ala”. So, when a Muslim gives Lillah, he/she is giving for the pleasure of Allah Ta`ala to some worthy cause. Would any sane Muslim regard a celebration of the stupid so-called “women’s  month” an Islamically valid cause that invites the Mercy or Pleasure of Allah Ta`ala? Would any rational Muslim donate Lillah to “empower” women to be able to go to school whilst they are in a state of filth? Would any intelligent Muslim parent even allow their chaste daughter to attend these dens of spiritual and immoral filth and degradation?

The hurmat (total impermissibility) of sending Muslim girls to secular (and so-called ‘Muslim’) schools is a topic for another discussion. Nevertheless, this fund-raiser of the deviant Ashraful Aid miscreants is directed at aiding and abetting non-Muslims and prostitutes.

The Hadith of our Beloved Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) is clear:

أَيُّمَا امْرَأَةٍ اسْتَعْطَرَتْ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَتْ لِيُوجَدَ رِيحُهَا، فَهِيَ زَانِيَةٌ، وَكُلُّ عَيْنٍ زَانِيَةٌ

Any woman that applies perfume and then she emerges (from her home) such that others get a scent of her perfume, she is an adulteress and every eye that beholds her is an adulterer. [Sunan Daarmi]

Notwithstanding this narration and all other such Ahaadith that clearly prohibit the emergence of women from their homes, these deviant Ashraful Aid cronies have the gall to solicit Lillah and Zakaat (Nauthubillah) for handing out bags that contain pads and deodorant, so the napaak girls may continue to attend school. The evil and depravity of this organisation knows no bounds. So, in effect, this Ashraful Aid – pathetic excuses for humans – are soliciting Lillah and Zakaat funds in order to promote and perpetuate immorality and prostitution! This begs the question: Was there ever any Imaan in their hearts to begin with??

To add insult to injury, the decrepit morons at Ashraful Aid regard this as a “Noble Cause”. Shaitaan has most certainly urinated in their brains.

On the appeal sent out by email and also on their website, this evil organisation does not specify whether donors should give Lillah or Zakaat. They simply advertise the bank account numbers of the two accounts – Lillah and Zakaat. How do they distribute such Zakaat funds? Is Zakaat going to used to buy pads and deodorant to “empower women” so that napaak disbelieving girls may continue attending school?

Firstly, is Zakaat given to such organisations ever distributed among worthy Muslim recipients? Secondly, is the purpose of Zakaat to allow filthy immoral girls to deodorise themselves and attend schools?

At this juncture we would like to sound a warning to ALL Muslims: IT IS HARAAM TO GIVE ZAKAAT FUNDS TO ASHRAFUL AID AND ALL OTHER SUCH ORGANIZATIONS. If you have given them Zakaat in the past to distribute on your behalf, then you would have to dispense that Zakaat again, because in all likelihood, your Zakaat was abused and never given to worthy Muslim recipients.

Regarding the Aayat in the Qur`aan Majeed, where Allah Ta`ala states:

وَمَا الْحَیٰوۃُ الدُّنْیَاۤ اِلَّا مَتَاعُ الْغُرُوۡرِ

The life of this world is merely an enjoyment of deception

Some Ulama have suggested the following interpretation: A person wishing to understand the terminology used in the Ayat ventured to the remote tribes living in the Arab desert. He wanted to understand the colloquial usage of the words. At a certain village he came across the following usage of the words متاع and غرور. When the time for haidh (menstruation) came, the common phrases used would be:

جَاءَ المتاعُ , جِئتَ بِالغرورِ

“Haidh (menstruation) came (and) you brought the rags (used during haidh as pads).”

This implies that in the colloquial usage of some Arab tribes, the Ayat compares the life of this world to soiled menstrual pads. How apt and befitting to this Ashraful Aid fund-raiser.

Molvis and laymen who run such organizations as Ashraful Aid, have nothing better to do with their time and Muslim’s money than cater for menstrual pads of none other than prostitutes and najis non-Muslims. May Allah Ta`ala have mercy on this Ummah!

عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ” يُوشِكُ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ لَا يَبْقَى مِنَ الْإِسْلَامِ إِلَّا اسْمُهُ، وَلَا يَبْقَى مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ إِلَّا رَسْمُهُ، مَسَاجِدُهُمْ عَامِرَةٌ وَهِيَ خَرَابٌ مِنَ الْهُدَى، عُلَمَاؤُهُمْ شَرُّ مَنْ تَحْتَ أَدِيمِ السَّمَاءِ مَنْ عِنْدَهُمْ تَخْرُجُ الْفِتْنَةُ وَفِيهِمْ تَعُودُ

Hadhrat Ali bin Talib (radhiallahu anhu) said that Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said, “Soon there will dawn an era upon people (when) nothing will remain of Islam except the name, nothing will remain of the Qur`aan except its text, their Musaajid will be populated but devoid of guidance; their Ulama will be the worst (of all creation) under the canopy of the sky, from them will emanate fitnah and it will return to them (hemming them in).”

 

The misguided crew calling themselves the “Deen Team” have yet again embarked on a ludicrous venture offering material and worldly recompense for performing Fardh Salaat with Jamaat. In their poster entitled “Fajr First” they brazenly and unashamedly state that this is an: “Incentive based campaign”.

A compulsory Ibaadat, where no Muslim has a choice of abandoning or even delaying or procrastinating, is being offered up for monetary recompense – La Howla wa la Quwwata. The Hadith cited above distinctly describes the type of ‘ulama’ involved in such activities. They are undoubtedly the worst of all creation – even worse than the worst and lowly of animals. They are literally selling the Deen.

Their hashtag of #fillupthemasjid is clearly an enactment of the Hadith where Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) prophesied the Musaajid will be populated and full, but devoid of guidance. What example or source of guidance would someone who only attends Salaat because there is some material recompense involved, engender? This “Deen Team” and their stupid campaigns are portents to the advent of Qiyaamat.

Instead of advising parents to encourage their children to perform Salaat, or to engage in delivering talks outlining the importance of Salaat and the punishments for discarding it, they opt for a shaitaani ‘incentive’ of paying someone to fulfil their obligatory duty!

When the Ahaadith likens a person who performs Salaat for show as having committed shirk (ascribing partners to Allah Ta`ala), what can be said of someone who will attend Salaat in the Musjid because he is being offered a prize in lieu of it?

The Hadith of Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) regarding Salaat for the youth is crystal clear:

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ “‏ مُرُوا الصَّبِيَّ بِالصَّلاَةِ إِذَا بَلَغَ سَبْعَ سِنِينَ وَإِذَا بَلَغَ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ فَاضْرِبُوهُ عَلَيْهَا ‏”‏ ‏.‏

Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said, “Instruct children with Salaat when they reach the age of seven and when they reach the age of ten, admonish (hit) them for it.”

The instruction of our beloved Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) – who was a mercy unto mankind – with regard to guiding children to perform salaat is clear. The parents should inculcate the habit of salaat in them from an early age. If by the age of ten they still do not perform Salaat, the parents should reprimand them. The Hadith doesn’t tell us to give them sweeties or dinars and dirhams. Firm admonition is required.

However, in today’s times, when even the parents are so lax in the performance of Salaat, we cannot expect any better from their children. It is the duty of the Ulama – the Asaatiza at the Maktab – to encourage the children to perform Salaat.

An Ustaad or Imaam, if he has true concern for the child, will even perhaps devise a system where the children are picked up from their homes and brought to the Musjid. What is the need, or Shar`i justification, for offering a prize?

This inane method of rewarding them for attending the Musjid is not only alien to Islam, but it also subtly inculcates shirk (polytheism). The wording on their poster: “Close to R100 000 in prizes up for grabs”, is clearly synonymous of kuffaar ideology. How can one equate the Hadith from Bukhari which they quote in their poster, with R100 000 being “up for grabs” for fulfilling an obligatory Islamic tenet?

Do these molvis even apply their minds to its bare minimum?

All these stunts are mere tactics for these molvis to justify their misappropriation of public funds in the form of their salaries.

Neither their methods nor they, have any affiliation to true Deen. Their Imaan has been thoroughly eroded by western influence and association. These molvis of the ‘Deen Team’ are not merely satisfied being ‘scholars for dollars’ themselves, but they wish to perpetuate this legacy amongst the Muslim youth.
