With regard to witchcraft (and witches), Allah Ta`ala declares in His Kalaam:

“Evil indeed is the price for which they have sold their souls (sold their share of Jannah). If only they knew.”

A Concerned Muslim Sister sent us the following lament:

“I would like to applaud your efforts for educating us about the current state of affairs of the Lakefield Musjid Open Day, It seems that everything Islamic is taking a very western stance in our community in Benoni and our children are being misled by their elders.

What I would like to bring to your attention is the recent school program that was held by Benoni Muslim school.

The program was supposed to encourage reading and the importance of knowledge and education, however it turned out to be more of a Halloween theme come modelling contest where the Mualimas dressed up as witches and mothers were encouraged to dress up in costumes and mimic characters and strut their stuff on the ramp. Astagfirullah, is this what we’ve become, is this educating our children, is this cultivating deen or is this just setting a tone and mindset in our children to be free thinkers and so called modern muslims.

Something needs to be said and unfortunately the jamiat on this side stays very mum about this kind of things, instead of guiding our children and propagating deen they choose to remain neutral and promote this unislamic behavior.” [End of her letter]

The evil of this event at the Benoni ‘Muslim’ School or should we rather say “Benoni School of Witchcraft” requires no elucidation for any Muslim. The concern shown by this sister is almost certainly shared by many other Muslims. Every believer has that spark of Imaan which aids him/her in distinguishing the baatil. We fear that even this little spark has left the hearts of many Ulama nowadays. May Allah Ta`ala save us from this great calamity!

All these perpetrators of Baatil should understand well that their evil does not go unnoticed by their constituents and even though many will not express their discontent, they are certainly voicing their helplessness to Allah Ta`ala. May Allah Ta`ala grant every sincere Muslim the taufeeq to stand up for His Deen before His Wrath manifests due to our silence and indifference.

At this ‘Halloween’ event held by this School (in keeping with their initialism, this School will hereinafter be referred to as BMS – Benoni school of Magic and Sorcery), some female teachers dressed up as actual witches – from head to toe, including their pose with broomsticks! Whilst they may deem this a trivial act of jest, their behaviour – and that too – in an environment of education, is an act of gross khiyaanat (treachery). Not only have they betrayed their mantle of being considered educators, they have introduced the teachings, attire and behaviour of pure kufr to Muslim children!

These witches must – if they wish to live as Muslims – renew their Imaan. Instead of dressing up as Muslim women and being an example to their pupils, they chose to imitate the garb of pure kufr. Not mere kufr at that, they chose the dress code of a culture that even many of the non-Muslims regard as heretical!!!

One of the basic teachings of Aqaaid is that it is kufr to show love and affiliation for kufr. Imitation of dress-code is one the most sincere and hardcore methods of expressing kinship. These witches of BMS, their employers and any parent who condoned this act of kufr, must renew their Imaan!

In Surah Baqarah, Allah Ta`ala expounds on the practices of the Jews and also highlights the issue of sihr (black-magic / witchcraft) – keep in mind that witches are the very ones who practice witchcraft. This Aayat refers directly to this (BMS) coven of witches and their ilk:

“They go by what the Shayaateen advertised during the reign of Sulaymaan (alayhis Salaam) (that Sulaymaan alayhis salaam practised black magic and was therefore a Kaafir). Sulaymaan (alayhis salaam) never committed kufr, but the Shayaateen were Kuffaar by teaching black magic to the people. They also taught them that which was revealed (i.e. the principles of black magic) to the two angels Haaroot and Maaroot in Babylon (Allah sent these two angels to teach black magic so that people could save themselves from its harms). The two never taught anyone without first advising them, “We are merely a test (for you), so do not commit kufr (by misusing the knowledge of black magic).” So they learnt from the two of them such things by which they could separate a man from his wife. However, they can never harm anyone with it (with black magic) without Allah’s command (permission). They learnt things (black magic practices) that are harmful to them (in the dunya and the Aakhirah) and which did them no good. Without doubt, they knew that there is no share in the Aakhirah (in Jannah) for the one who purchased (practised) it (black magic). Evil indeed is the price for which they have sold their souls (sold their share of Jannah). If only they knew.” [Surah Baqarah, Aayat 102]

Throughout this Aayat we see that Allah Ta`ala clearly and categorically classifies witchcraft as kufr and the perpetrators of witchcraft as kuffaar. There is no conundrum or ambiguity in this regard in the above Aayat. Since witches are undoubtedly kuffaar, those who dress up like them and imitate them clearly demonstrate their kinship to kufr and the kuffaar, hence they are likewise kuffaar. No mufti or modern-day tin-top ‘mujtahid’ can deny this!

In a Hadith narrated by Imaam Bukhaari (rahmatullahi alaihi), Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) warned Muslims to avoid seven destructive sins. Amongst them, the first is ascribing partners to Allah Ta`ala and the second is sorcery (witchcraft).

Whilst it matters not what the kuffaar also say regarding witches and witchcraft, it would serve as an eye-opener to any sincere reader that even their beliefs regarding this malevolence, clearly demonstrates the depravity of the crime perpetrated by the witches of BMS.

“Historically, and in most traditional cultures worldwide – notably in Africa and in traditional Native American communities – the term (witches) is commonly associated with those who use metaphysical means to cause harm to the innocent. In the modern era, especially among younger, urban and white peoples in America and Europe, the word may more commonly refer to benign or positive practices of modern paganism, where it may refer to a divinatory or healing role.”

“In Christianity and Islam, sorcery came to be associated with heresy and apostasy and to be viewed as evil.” [Wikipedia]

Even the non-Muslims concede that witches and witchcraft are synonymous with heresy and apostasy. Do Muslims really need lessons on kufr from the kuffaar???

“History of Witches

Witches were perceived as evil beings by early Christians in Europe, inspiring the iconic Halloween figure.

Images of witches have appeared in various forms throughout history—from evil, wart-nosed women huddling over a cauldron of boiling liquid to hag-faced, cackling beings riding through the sky on brooms wearing pointy hats.”

[This is precisely how the Witches of the BMS were dressed up. Laa Howla Wa La Quwwata!]

“The Origin of Witches

Early witches were people who practiced witchcraft, using magic spells and calling upon spirits for help or to bring about change. Most witches were thought to be pagans doing the Devil’s work.”  []

[Need we even comment any further?]

How low have our Muslims sunk that they do not see kufr for what it is! On the one hand we have the Christians, Jews, etc. that are one breed of kufr that oppose us and our true Deen. As Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said, “Kufr is one nation”, and then on the other hand we have the Satan-worshippers, who are a breed that oppose all those who believe in A Creator!

Satanists and witches are followers of a creed that is totally on the other side of the spectrum of humanity!

They oppose everything that is good and human. They very literally worship the arch-enemy of Allah Rabbul Izzat!!!!

Are the people in charge of this ill-fated School and the parents of pupils so blind that they do not discern this blatant kufr?

This is a perfect example of compounded kufr – kufr upon kufr. The very antitheses of Nurun ala Nur! This event at the School merely confirms and entrenches our contention that these so-called ‘Muslim Schools’ are nothing other than dens of vice, kufr and satanism. May Allah Ta`ala safeguard the Imaan of our Muslim children from these lairs of shaitaan!

May Allah Ta`ala protect us all!
